The pic IS a toy. It's also a story.
I made one part - just the torso - it was just a ball hanging from a wire form. It was very sensitive and any movement on my desk would cause it to vibrate. Then I drew a face on the ball which gave it a sense of humor - a bobbing head.
A week later I made the legs. The torso was disproportionate, it bugged me, and a few days later I cut the wire shorter and it was better.
I accidentally knocked a bunch of stuff off my shelf - the game piece was one of those things and I put it on top of the base as I cleaned up. That added some playfulness.
And then one morning the light hit the piece just right. I took a photo and had it printed. I got it back and it felt autobiographical.
In sum: good to watch the things evolve - some things are your own handiwork, others just show up and often need time. I'm generally impatient and it's good to notice when that gets in the way.
